Database Restructuring and Software Updates
-
The next phase in the evolution of NED's data system has been completed, including updates to the database structure, query software, and user interface.
-
The Object Type field in NED contained a mixture of physical object types (e.g., G, GPair, QSO) and regions of the EM spectrum in which sources were detected (e.g., VisS, XrayS). These are now separated into Physical Types, where available, and a new EM Region field that lists all detection regions.
